On December 1, 2025, Shymkent University and Baku State University (Baku, Azerbaijan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The signing ceremony was held to develop international partnership and strengthen academic ties between the two higher education institutions.
Rector of Baku State University, Elchin Babayev, warmly welcomed the delegation from Shymkent University and presented information about the university’s research environment, educational process, international rankings, and ongoing internationalization efforts.
Elchin Babayev emphasized that cooperation in academic exchange, dual-degree programs, research projects, and joint conferences has the potential to achieve significant results.
Representing Shymkent University at the signing ceremony were:
• Rector Nurlybek Seitkulov,
• Coordinator of the Department for International Cooperation, Assel Auyelbekova,
• Coordinator for External Relations, Sevil Piriyeva Karaman.
Both parties expressed confidence that this agreement will strengthen the partnership between the two universities and open new opportunities for students and faculty.
