Library's mission:

-storage, management and provision of the library's scientific collection;

 - providing students with printed and digital resources;

-  openness and popularization of intellectual resources.

The library of Shymkent University is one of the most important departments of the university, which is a scientific and information institution, the support base of the educational,  methodological and scientific process for training qualified specialists.

          The structure of the library includes: subscription, reading room, electronic room, conference room.

           The main book fund contains 400576 copies of educational, scientific and fiction literature in Kazakh, Russian and English. In addition, there are analogues of all literature on digital media.

 The library process is automated, the library and information system “Irbis” is operational.

Each user is provided with high-quality and effective access to any information resources that help support the educational process and scientific research of the university.

In order to assist in providing access to domestic and foreign library collections, agreements have been concluded between the libraries: Republican Interuniversity Electronic Library (RIEL), Republican Scientific and Technical Library (RSTL), Educational Information Center of SKU named after M. Auezov, Shymkent City Special Library for blind and visually impaired citizens, Centralized System of Public Libraries named after Abai, City Scientific and Universal Library named after Al-Farabi, City Universal Library named after S. Pushkin.
