The main objectives of the Department of Scientific and International Cooperation are:
- work with foreign partners, conclusion of memoranda and agreements, coordination of projects and programs
- organization and holding of events for the development of international cooperation;
- organization of cooperation in the field of advanced training of teaching staff, joint educational educational and research programs, publishing and other forms of cooperation with foreign partners and representative offices;
- selection of teaching staff, undergraduates and students for internships abroad;
- organization and participation in international conferences, symposiums, exhibitions and meetings on scientific research issues;
- information support on international programs to expand scientific and educational ties through the activities of international organizations and foundations supporting science and education, involving scientists and specialists in academic exchanges, internships and scientific trips, providing methodological assistance for the development of joint research projects and programs;
- ensuring the implementation of external academic mobility programs for teaching staff and students;
- attracting international students and undergraduates to study at the university;
- coordination of the activities of the structural units of the university on issues of international cooperation, development of regulations, normative documents regulating the activities of the university (in accordance with the tasks of the department);
- development of cooperation with scientific departments of higher educational institutions and research institutes, other scientific organizations of foreign countries in order to exchange experience and conduct joint scientific research and other scientific events.
Double-degree education
Students of Shymkent University have opportunity to receive not only a Kazakh diploma, but also a diploma of a foreign partner university.
The procedure for admission, financial issues and submission of documents for training under the programs of double-degree education should be clarified in the Department of International Cooperation (room 224).
Program conditions:• study at Shymkent University and a partner university according to a jointly developed curriculum and in accordance with a training model defined by the contract (3+1; 2+2);
• form of study – full-time at Shumkent University and partner university;
• graduates of the Program receive two diplomas: a diploma of the Shymkent University on higher education and a diploma of a foreign partner university.
Since 2001, Shymkent University hosted over 100 distinguished guests.

Fehmi Tuncel gave lectures on the psychology of physical culture and sports, on hygiene in sports. Also during the visit were practical volleyball classes.
Semiha Tuncel
Doctor, Professor of Ankara University
Ms. Semiha Tunchel gave a lecture on "Marketing in the field of physical culture and sports", where she spoke about global marketing in sports. The lecture was followed by a question and answer session.

The lecture by Mr. Suleiman Efendioglu was devoted to Turkology, as well as the relationship with the Kazakh language and literature.

Halil Ibrahim Bulbul
Doctor, Professor of Gazi University
An invited guest, Khalil Ibrahim Bulbul, Doctor, Professor at Gazi University, delivered a lecture for students, who shared his experience and motivated the students. The topic of the lecture was devoted to "Artificial intelligence -the basis of modern information technologies".
