On April 27, 2026, a delegation from Shymkent University paid an official visit to Istanbul Gelisim University (Republic of Türkiye) and signed an agreement on the implementation of a joint educational program in “Physical Education and Sports.”
The delegation included: President of Shymkent University Galyamzhan Praliyev, Rector Nurlybek Seitkulov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Strategic Development Akbope Kerimbekova, Türkiye Coordinator Sevil Piriyeva, and Director of the Marketing and Public Relations Department Furkhat Saipov.
During the visit, bilateral meetings were held, where the parties comprehensively discussed key areas of cooperation. Particular attention was given to the development and implementation of joint educational programs, the enhancement of academic mobility for students and faculty, and the exchange of experience in training qualified specialists in the field of physical education and sports.
Representatives of Istanbul Gelisim University presented the university’s modern educational infrastructure, material and technical base, sports facilities, and research potential. In turn, the delegation from Shymkent University introduced its development strategy, international activities, and initiatives aimed at expanding partnerships.
Following the negotiations, a cooperation agreement was signed, opening new opportunities for the development of joint educational programs, the advancement of research activities, and the expansion of academic exchange.
The parties expressed confidence that the agreements reached would serve as a solid foundation for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation and confirmed their readiness to further develop international collaboration in higher education.
