From October 4 to 9, 2026, the XII International Shallow Lakes Conference – 2026 is being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The conference focuses on current challenges related to the study, conservation, and restoration of shallow lake ecosystems.

The scientific program of this international conference features research conducted by Akmaral Issayeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor at Shymkent University.

Her research paper entitled “The composition of the flora in water bodies in southern Kazakhstan under the influence of hydrochemical parameters” has been included in the conference’s poster presentation program.

The study focuses on examining the floristic composition of aquatic ecosystems in Southern Kazakhstan and assessing the influence of hydrochemical factors on their ecological condition. This research area is particularly relevant to water resource conservation, biodiversity protection, and the promotion of environmental sustainability in the region.

The international conference brings together scientists and researchers specializing in hydrobiology, limnology, ecology, and environmental protection, providing an important platform for exchanging scientific knowledge, research findings, and international best practices.

The presentation of research conducted by Shymkent University scholars at international scientific events contributes to the development of research activities, the expansion of academic cooperation, and the strengthening of international scientific partnerships.

Shymkent University continues to actively promote scientific research aimed at addressing pressing environmental challenges, enhancing its research capacity, and integrating Kazakhstan’s scientific community into the international research and education landscape.
